Teagan and His Fish

Teagan caught his first fish today when we went fishing (and the only fish caught today). He was so excited!! And it just happened to be probably the biggest blue gill I have ever seen.


He really wanted to keep it, so we put it in a bucket and filled it with water. Then T spent most of the rest our fishing trip playing with the fish.


Then Jason and Landon decided that they were going to try to catch a blue gill with their hands. Needless to say that is how the remainder of the trip was spent for all three boys. At least they had fun.

Fishing

So tonight was the first fishing expedition for the year. The boys all had so much fun, and Justin got to fish too. Usually when we take the boys fishing he helps them and doesn't get much time fishing himself. Jason and Landon are now old enough to even bait their own poles and Teagan practiced casting. It was so fun to watch him get it. He was so proud of himself, he wouldn't even reel it in until we had acknowledged that he had done a good job. Good times.

It's that time again

Jason and Landon just got their pigs for the county fair this year. They are both so excited.
They are actually pretty cute right now. They are in our back yard until we finish getting pens built with Shawna (our friend/family that we do this with), so the boys have been playing with them every chance they get. Even the dogs are curious.

Slacker!!

I have been such a slacker! I know. Things have been pretty busy lately and they are not really calming down. I don't even know what to write about. The last fun family activity we did was to go to Bluff for the hot air balloon festival. It was sooo cold, but so much fun. My parents go every year and Jason has gone with them before but it was the first time for the rest of us. In the morning (7 am on a Saturday) we went down and watched them fill up and take off then we watched a few land and disassemble. The boys got a little bored during that so we went back to the craft fair and walked around for awhile. But the best was at night. We went back before dark and watched a few light up. It was so cool. Again, very cold, but really cool. It was a good day. Pictures to follow. If I load them now Justin's game will get messed up. I'll be nice and wait.

Happy Birthday Teagan!!

Teagan was so easy to please this year. He wanted a horsey and a pinata. So we got both in one and he didn't even care about the other gifts. O.k. he did, but he was sooo happy. All the kids got to take turns smacking it and Jason, who was last, broke it open. It turned out perfect. Then we had cake. Since Cindy's birthday is only three days after T's we have a big family dinner for them both and I got to make my first girly cake!! It was so fun. It was also my first time working with fondant. Turned out good. All in all it was a great day.

Moving

So we are moving again. Still in Blanding, but to a bigger house. I have been cleaning it today and I am really missing my house in Grand Junction right now. It was so pretty, and nice. Oh well . The room will be so good for us, the boys in particular. Maybe they won't get strangled.

Four Wheeling

So this post is a little late, but at least I remembered it. We went four-wheeling with my parents a few weekends ago. It was so much fun to go someplace that, even though I have lived here all my life, I have never been before. We went to canyonlands and took a few trails along the canyon ending up at anticline lookout.

My boys found another set of grandparents. Buddy and Luanna Black took all three boys at different time and let them "drive" their razor. Teagan didn't ride with anyone else the whole way. It was so much fun to get out and do something fun with my family. Hopefully next time some of my siblings will be able to join us.

Camping

We had such a fun time camping last weekend and I got some funny pictures, but my mom's computer is really acting up and I haven't been able to upload any photos. So I will have to try again another time. It was my dad's family reunion over labor day weekend. It was fun to see most of the family, but it was a lot smaller than it usually is. There were a lot of people who didn't come down. Even my parents didn't camp, they just came up during the day. My boys had so much fun playing with thier cousins. I'm very sad that summer is ending and we won't be camping anymore. Next year.

Happy Birthday Landon

The one good thing about Jason and Landon's birthdays being so close is that they still enjoy celebrating together so we only have to do one party. I did make Landon a special breakfast this morning. He wanted pork chops and eggs. It was an interesting breakfast. Oh well. It's only your birthday once a year.

Happy Birthday Jason

Jason just had his ninth birthday! Since Landon's birthday is on Wed. and they pretty much have the same friends we just did a fun dinner up on the mountain last night. Jason told me this morning that it was the best birthday party he had ever had. I am so glad. Again, no pictures since we camped last night and I only came in for work (yes I am working as I post this.. what a fun day). Hopefully I'll have some time soon.

Back to school

I now have all three boys in school!!! Teagan started pre-school on Wednesday. He goes for two hours on Mondays and Wednesdays, and is so excited to be a big boy just like his brothers. Landon started kindergarten and was a litte sad that here we only have half-day kindergarten. In Grand Junction Jason got to go all day, but Landon loves school and told me all about recess!! His favorite part of the day. Jason just started third grade and is now to old for mom to take him to his class on the first day. He found a friend who is in his class outside and they took off to their classroom as soon as they got inside. He has a good teacher who works hard to make her students more responsible, so he has homework every night. I am so happy to have them back in school. Lets just say that we all needed it. I am sad that I don't have any pictures to post yet, but that's how it goes when you don't have the internet at your own house. I'll get some up as soon as I can.

Fun at the fair

I am so glad that the fair is over now. We had a ton of fun, but it was exausting!! Jason's pig wieghed in at 214 lbs. So we had to get her washed and shaved first. What an exciting thing. We let Jason start, but Justin and I helped. By the time we got done she was ready for a nap. The next day was the showmanship and market shows. They were really nice and let Landon show his and Kysons pig in the showmanship part where they look at the kid and how they handle the pig. He was holding his stick wrong and lost the pig a few times, but he was so excited to get to participate. All the kids did good. Then the market show was when they judged the pigs. We weren't sure Jasons would do very well because she is so extreme. she has HUGE hams (hence the name bubble butt) and no cover (fat, lol, I know something about pigs now). But she ended up taking 5th over all and Kash's pig Ace took 3rd. They were soooo excited. Kyson and Landon's pig didn't show until Friday, and since Justin and I both had to work that morning we didn't get to see that, but Kyson took second in the showmanship and thier pig took third. Landon was all eyes when he saw the belt buckle that Kyson won. The auction was Saturday morning and it was long! I haven't ever been to one before so I was so lost. It was interesting. Jasons pig sold at $3.50/lb. to Bradford Tire (my uncles tire shop). So it was a good day for him. Landon and Kysons pig also sold for $3.50/lb. Kyson felt bad that he only paid Landon $100 for his help, but we told him that that is plenty of money for a 5 year old. He is already planning next year since he will have finished kindergarten and can do his own.

Drama, Drama, Drama

Jason had a little accident this week. He was playing at a friends house Thursday and they were shooting a b.b. gun (which is against our house rules in the first place, dad is supposed to be there anytime the boys use a gun). And I think he was showing off and shot at a baseball only a few feet away. The b.b. ricocheted and hit his eye. It didn't look to bad, but today he couldn't even open it so we called the eye doctor and his eye is full of blood! Yay. So now we have to fight him to put drops in his eyes every two hours. He is such a drama queen that Justin and I have had to literally sit on him to get the drops in. Hopefully it gets better soon.

Recipes

So I was talking to Julie and sharing some easy recipes and we decided that it would be fun to do a recipe of the week. But since I'm not really that on the ball I think i'll try to do one every other week or so. Just remember that I'm not a wonderful cook so the recipes I post will be simple and can be adjusted to your tastes and the size of your family pretty easily.
